An Aligner Attachment That Suddenly Feels Different
Small tooth-colored attachments may be part of a clear aligner plan. Their shape helps the trays apply selected forces. If an attachment appears missing or feels altered, the change is worth reporting even when the tray still seems to fit reasonably well.
Check without experimenting
Look in good light and describe which tooth seems different. Do not file a rough area, glue a piece back, or attach a substitute. Keep wearing or holding the current tray according to the instructions from your treating team, and contact them for advice specific to the stage of treatment.
Explain what changed
Tell the team when you noticed the issue, whether the tray seats fully, and whether there is discomfort or a new sharp edge. A photograph may be useful if they request one. The next step depends on the tooth movement planned and the actual condition of the attachment. A small visible component can have a deliberate role, so its loss should not automatically be dismissed as cosmetic or corrected through a homemade repair.
